Refund Policy

This policy is designed to be clear for learners, parents, Google Play reviewers and payment partners.

1. Overview

POCademy offers subscriptions that provide access to educational and learner success services. This policy explains cancellations, refunds, duplicate charges, failed access and payment disputes.

2. Google Play and RevenueCat

Mobile subscriptions purchased through the Android app are processed by Google Play Billing and may be managed through RevenueCat. Google Play purchases may be subject to Google Play refund rules and processes.

3. Monthly subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions give access for the paid billing period. Cancelling a monthly subscription stops future renewal but does not automatically refund the current period already activated.

4. Yearly subscriptions

Yearly subscriptions provide access for the annual period. Premium Yearly subscriptions may qualify for referral discounts where a valid referral code is used.

5. Free trial

Learners should use the 3-day free trial to test the platform before subscribing. Trial availability may vary and may be limited per user, subject or device.

6. Refunds may be considered for

  • Verified duplicate payments.
  • Verified billing errors.
  • Cases where payment was successful but access was not activated due to a technical fault.
  • Unauthorised transactions, subject to investigation and payment provider rules.

7. Refunds are generally not granted for

  • Change of mind after access has been activated.
  • Failure to cancel before renewal.
  • Non-use of the platform after subscribing.
  • Dissatisfaction based on outcomes outside POCademy's control, such as exam marks, university admission, bursary awards or employment.
  • Suspension caused by breach of terms, fraud or abuse.

8. Technical issues

If a learner cannot access paid content due to a verified POCademy technical issue, we may restore access, extend access or consider a refund depending on the circumstances.

9. Duplicate charges

Users should contact us with payment date, account email, subscription type and proof of charge. Verified duplicates will be investigated and handled through the relevant payment provider.

10. Cancellations

Users must cancel Google Play subscriptions in Google Play account settings. Deleting the POCademy account or app does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.

11. Chargebacks and fraud

Fraudulent chargebacks, referral abuse, payment manipulation or false claims may lead to account suspension, reward forfeiture and investigation.

12. Processing times

Approved refunds may take 7 to 30 business days depending on Google Play, RevenueCat, banks and other payment providers.

13. Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights available under applicable South African consumer protection laws.
